Movement 2 hour workshop with Tootz

Course Description

So you want to upgrade your knowledge of movement ? 

I’m Tootz, One of Perth’s Premier Mentor/ Choreographer/Pillars in the Queer dance community. In this workshop we will be working with freestyle/choreography and learning to understand movement through beats, music and sound.

Movement and Music work hand in hand with each other as you know so I’d like to aid in upskilling your repertoire and broaden the elements you hold in your Rolodex of ideas!

This class is suitable for those who want to choreograph a new or existing solo, or for those who work best in groups and want to share your ideas to contribute to the act you’re working on!

My teaching style is giving ‘drama teacher’ I’m all about textures and feeling (emotion) when it comes to me sharing my knowledge so we will be diving into freestyle which I will aid in by throwing out feelings and emotions such as ‘SASS, ANXIETY, STRESS,POWER’ and we will adapt these ideas through movement! 

I want to help you broaden movement capabilities through dance with choreography pathways in my wheelhouse so we will be learning a combo to add to the overall session! It’s going to be very special to share the experience with you all so come along ! 

What will happen: Workshop - 2 Hours 

• 15 minute warm up 
• 30-45 Minutes of exploring movement through feeling and freestyle ! (In the box and out of the box Method) 
• 45 minutes of choreography (intermediate/ advanced- sassy hip hop/jazz) 
• 5 minutes of filming end result 
• 10 minute cool-down 

What to Wear

Your energy !!! LOTS OF IT or what you have for that day x if you have 20% I have your 80% that’s how we go 100%

Water, Snacks, Sweat towel, Phones for filming 

Footwear- Sneakers, trainers. Open to heels for those who are advanced

Restrictions

Open to anyone over the age of 18 years +

Previous dance experience necessary -Intermediate - advanced level recommended
