6-week course, six 1-hour sessions over six weeks.

Course Description

This course is a direct follow-on from Beginners Burlesque Dance Level 1 course.

Your skills and creativity in the of the art of tease will be extended, as well as learning mini routines such as cane or chair dance routines (if props are available) or mini tease routines througout the course. Combined with costuming tips, performance hair & make-up techniques as well as musicality basics, you will learn a progressive group routine over the six weeks.

You will have an opportunity to perform this group routine together at the Sugar Blue Burlesque Fresh Faced Follies Graduation show.

We are committed to making our space more welcoming and inclusive for our community, so we’re pleased to offer a Free Beginners Burlesque Dance Level 1 or 2 course to Indigenous, Bla(c)k and People of Colour, as well as Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people and People with Disabilities in Perth who are keen to try Burlesque for the first time.

What to Wear

Comfortable clothing and easy to dance in heels recommended (but not essential!)

Please note that if you do want to participate in the optional grad show performance at the end of the course, there will be additional costs/sourcing involved in purchase of costume items and presentation, which will talked about in week 1.

This course is open to all genders over the age of 18yrs.

You are welcome to do Beg 2 before doing Beg 1 (the level is the same, but each of these courses cover different curriculum), but you MUST complete Burlesque Beg Dance Level 1 & 2 before moving onto the Intermediate Burlesque Dance Level 1 course. 

*People with disabilities are welcome to bring along a support worker if needed.
*All dance teachers are happy to adjust dance moves as needed to accommodate people with disabilities.
